FAQs

I am a new business and I do not know where to start with digital marketing.

Start with who you are trying to sell to and why they need what you are selling, not a channel. The most common way this goes wrong is assuming you can sell to everybody, and opening five social accounts before anyone has decided what the business stands for. That produces activity without direction.

Brand Discovery is a 60-90 minute workshop built for exactly this position. It costs from €750 and it produces a written summary of where you are and what to do first.

Why do I need to do digital marketing at all?

Because buyers build shortlists from memory. By the time someone is ready to buy, they are mostly choosing between businesses they already recognise, and 95% of your potential buyers are not ready to buy yet.

Every month you are not building familiarity is a month of that mental space going to a competitor. The work is cumulative, which is also why starting late is expensive.

Why do I need a brand strategy? Is it not just a logo?

A logo is one output. The strategy is the reasoning behind every visual and verbal decision the business makes, which is what lets a website, a proposal and a LinkedIn post reinforce each other rather than reading as three separate companies.

Fragmented branding does not just look untidy. It splits the memory-building across several impressions of a business that no one connects.

What difference will this actually make to my business?

Brand recognition raises the efficiency of every other channel you run. Taking awareness from 30% to 40% makes paid media around 43% more efficient, according to the "Awareness Advantage" report from Tracksuit and TikTok, and that gain applies to clicks, opens, shares and conversions as well.

You are not buying awareness for its own sake. You are lowering the cost of everything else you do.

What does success look like, and how would I measure it?

We agree that before the work starts, because it differs by business. For most it is some combination of qualified enquiries, search visibility for the terms your buyers actually use, and content that keeps returning traffic months after it was published.

Can't AI do all of this for me now?

AI is genuinely good at scale, speed, consistency and cost: processing data, tracking search trends and competitor moves, and drafting. It is used here for all of that.

What it does not do is decide what matters, challenge an answer that sounds right, or produce original positioning rather than a remix of existing patterns. Those are the parts that determine whether the output works, and they are the parts a human does.

Why work with Papillon Marketing rather than a branding or design agency?

Because the brand is connected to the business rather than treated as a separate creative exercise. Three decades in B2B sales and marketing sit behind the work, so the strategy is built to serve how the business actually makes money.

A pure design agency will give you beautiful assets. A strategy and design agency will give you lasting, relevant impact.

I do not have a creative bone in my body. How does the design process work?

You are not asked to be creative. You are asked to be clear about your business, your customers and your ambitions, which no one knows better than you.

Translating that into something your market will notice and remember is the job you are buying. The quality of the output does depend on the quality of the input, so the process is built around structured questions rather than a blank page.

Do you work with large corporates?

No. The work is built for small and medium businesses and for startups, usually with somewhere between five and thirty people and no marketing hire yet.

Where are you based, and does that matter?

The work is delivered remotely to English-speaking businesses across European time zones, which covers calls in a shared working day.
